so here we are again
it always feels like nothing's changed
we pretend to be so much stronger now
but it doesn't end
we're always caught just where we were
or are we?
it's so hard to tell for sure
i cry for hours before i fall asleep
i feel so trapped and weak
the air feels like poison in this town
but i'm as close to you as i can get
for now

we glitter in the dark
in the dark
we glitter in the dark
in the dark
we glitter in the dark
(rook)
the way things change
me&you and all that we've become
still remains
nothing's been erased
we are the sum of everything we were
the way we changed each other's lives
underneath nanaimo station skytrain tracks
we reflected and stared together at the sky

The content is mostly heavy as ever but the tracks are all catchy as hell and there's some pretty pleasant lo-fi/chiptune/pop-punk elements. This is the Black Dresses album you show your friends when you get the aux, if you're a coward. rykemasters

I have been listening to this album since the first half of 2022, and it is my favorite album ever. I never had words to describe how much I love this album. I could listen to it forever. Please, never stop making music. Your band and music mean so much to me. I love Black Dresses. rayreat
The debut full-length from noted game composer Megan McDuffee is slick and moody electropop with more than a hint of darkness. Plus vocals! Bandcamp New & Notable May 13, 2021

If you're dealing with some major damage, boy do I have the album for you.
I've been listening to it nonstop in the short time that I've known about it. It's painfully sincere, painfully relatable, and the vocal performances are absolutely hypnotic.
