i can't breathe in this town
whispers and lies pile up
i'm buried alive
the sea heaves like a dying man
willows pass their rumors
limb by limb
i'm not here
i'm not here right now
this world is not my home
i walk alone
when i sleep
i dream of escape
i can see through myself
i can see through you
i'm see-through
(rook)
i feel like distance
i feel incorporeal
i feel like vapor
separated, unreal
i feel like distance
i feel incorporeal
all expectations concealed
i feel like distance
i feel incorporeal
i feel like vapor
separated, unreal
i feel like distance
i feel incorporeal
all expectations concealed
it doesn't stop
(it doesn't stop)
it doesn't end
(it doesn't end)
it doesn't matter where you go, you know
it doesn't stop
(it doesn't stop)
it doesn't end
(it doesn't end)
you know it doesn't matter where you go
The content is mostly heavy as ever but the tracks are all catchy as hell and there's some pretty pleasant lo-fi/chiptune/pop-punk elements. This is the Black Dresses album you show your friends when you get the aux, if you're a coward. rykemasters
I have been listening to this album since the first half of 2022, and it is my favorite album ever. I never had words to describe how much I love this album. I could listen to it forever. Please, never stop making music. Your band and music mean so much to me. I love Black Dresses. rayreat
The debut full-length from noted game composer Megan McDuffee is slick and moody electropop with more than a hint of darkness. Plus vocals! Bandcamp New & Notable May 13, 2021
If you're dealing with some major damage, boy do I have the album for you.
I've been listening to it nonstop in the short time that I've known about it. It's painfully sincere, painfully relatable, and the vocal performances are absolutely hypnotic.
