the cold
the stillness, the tension
the feeling in the room
your soul
contained and rotting
in your eyes
i know you
but did you know that
i was something other
beyond your life?
the specter of your agency
burnt in your smile
you knew it was too late for me
to reconcile
my world with the impact
and the stars that burst in my mind
i still dream of the day that we all
left you behind
is this how you dreamed it would happen?
like some kind of game
i know you thought you recognized me
but we are not the same
we are not the same
i didn't know who i was
but i knew exactly
how far i had to push you
do you know that
i am something other
beyond your life?
the specter of your agency
burnt in your smile
you knew it was too late for me
to reconcile
my world with the impact
and the stars that burst in my mind
i hope you pray your feeble
doesn't follow mine.
did you think that
i was something other
you had to destroy?
The content is mostly heavy as ever but the tracks are all catchy as hell and there's some pretty pleasant lo-fi/chiptune/pop-punk elements. This is the Black Dresses album you show your friends when you get the aux, if you're a coward. rykemasters
I have been listening to this album since the first half of 2022, and it is my favorite album ever. I never had words to describe how much I love this album. I could listen to it forever. Please, never stop making music. Your band and music mean so much to me. I love Black Dresses. rayreat
The debut full-length from noted game composer Megan McDuffee is slick and moody electropop with more than a hint of darkness. Plus vocals! Bandcamp New & Notable May 13, 2021
If you're dealing with some major damage, boy do I have the album for you.
I've been listening to it nonstop in the short time that I've known about it. It's painfully sincere, painfully relatable, and the vocal performances are absolutely hypnotic.
